As part of a recently funded interdisciplinary, multi-Centric project by “la Caixa” Foundation: (link), we are presently seeking four different postdoctoral/research assistant positions:

Postdoctoral Fellow, ISGlobal/IGTP, Barcelona/Badalona, Spain.

Duration: 3 years 

Start date: October 1st 2021

Direct supervisor: Hernando A del Portillo, Ph.D. (Project Leader)

Profile: Bio/medical scientist with knowledge and expertise in tissue culture, malaria and bioinformatics. 

Job description: signaling pathways, exosome molecular signatures, ex vivo erythropoiesis, functional assays

Junior Researcher, i3S, Bioengineered 3D Microenvironments, Porto, Portugal (Co-PI)

Duration: 2.5 years

Start date: October 1st 2021

Direct supervisor: Cristina Barrias, Ph.D. (Co-Principal investigator).

Profile: Biomedical engineer with expertise in 3D microcultures. Knowledge in infectious diseases will be a plus. 

Job description: Develop 3D cell culture of bone marrow and spleen in bioengineered ECM-like hydrogels

Posdoctoral Fellow, Microfluidics and Nanoscience Group, University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain

Duration: 3 years

Start date: October 1st 2021

Direct supervisor: Aurora Hernandez-Machado

Profile: Biomedical engineer or physicist with expertise in microfluidics and organ on a chip. Knowledge in infectious diseases will be a plus.

Research Assistant, Mahidol Vivax Research Unit (MVRU), University of Mahidol, Bangkok, Thailand

Duration: 3 years

Profile: Bio/medical scientist with knowledge and expertise in Plasmodium vivax, in vitro culture, gametocyte production, membrane feeding assays.
